Do you know that at the age of three, Mozart, one of the greatest musical masterminds was already picking out chords on the harpsichord? At four, he was playing short pieces and at five, he had started composing music. Imagine if as a child he wasn’t given the chance to exhibit himself!
Children need to be allowed to express themselves; they have so much to show. To say at Premiere Academy that we are committed to building and training students to be creatively innovative through educational programmes and skills development, it is based on the idea that young people should be equipped to solve societal pressing problems.
In the light of the above, Premiere Academy organized her Annual Exhibition Event themed: “Impression 2022” on Friday, July 8th, 2022 – at the school premises.
The exhibition’s main aim was to portray the different skills and talents of our students in the form of projects on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) and food exhibition. Beyond that, our annual exhibition is used to evaluate our students’ skills and acquired knowledge.
Giving students the opportunity at Premiere Academy to express themselves creatively and in other areas is very important to us. This is because, students in secondary schools are emerging personalities who are responsible not only for the diligent acquisition of knowledge but also for creative activities and development of their projects. This subsequently brings about our students' eligibility to apply for any area of specialization that corresponds to their interests and skills with the hope that their road to a career choice will be seamless. This is evidenced in our alumni excelling academically in various universities across the globe. This feat has endeared us to various foreign universities who are now seeking partnership with us vis-à-vis students’ referral for university admission.
The exhibition was an avenue for our students to interact with one another, inspire themselves to think critically, solve complex problems and develop skills such as oral communication, public speaking, research, teamwork, planning,
goal setting and technology —all of which will help prepare them for the future.
During the exhibition, students had the opportunity to come up with innovative tech projects such as: Electric Car, Quadcopter Camera Drone, Line Following Robotic Car, Smart Dust Bin, 3D-Printed Spider Robot, 3D-Printed Smart Car, Smart LED Scroll board, RC Flying Wing, Smart Plant Irrigation System, Human Following Robotic Car, Obstacle Avoiding Wheeled Robot, Robotic Arm with Claws, Quiz game, PALA Gist Radio Station, Historical facts on Igala Kingdom, Ghana empire and Ethiopian empire and Video reels of all subjects thought in social sciences
Present at the exhibition were the school's Management team, staff and students, invited schools, and other eminent personalities. Interestingly, every student displayed their best work.
We believe that an exhibition is an outcome of what the students have been taught as well as their combined learning process. Therefore, the students demonstrated what have learnt and they were tested on the parameters of how much they have acquired by the teaching process. Even in the complete process of the exhibition, the teaching and learning process continues.
We believe that preparation is essential at Premiere Academy. Therefore, we nurture our students to be the best they can be with the right education that prepares them for the present and the future
