At Premiere Academy, our commitment to developing one young mind at a time was evident in our just concluded annual Tech Day event. Reminiscing about the highlights and success of the event, one can’t help but see through the enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and desire to break new ground displayed by our students and invited pupils.
The event was an extension of our dedication to fostering technology-driven education that will shape children for the future.
Central to the event was a thought-provoking inter-school competition, where students showcased their talents and problem-solving skills in a series of technology-related challenges. From coding challenges to robotics competitions and hands-on engagement - this was consistent with the ingenuity and creativity of the young minds who participated in the competition.
Congratulations to Claret International School Abuja for emerging as the winner while Lakeside School Abuja and Nafowa School secured second and third place respectively.
Our esteemed Special Quest of the day , Dr. Oluyemi Akinyinka ( an expert in IP Solutions, Data Science, and Tech Strategy, and a Harvard Business School and MIT alumnus) gave an insightful keynote address with emphasis on the importance of developing a strong foundation in technology from an early age. He stressed the role of education in empowering young minds to harness the power of technology for positive change, echoing the theme of this year’s tech day , "Developing One Young Mind at a Time".
As Dr. Akinyinka shared his experience from his early beginnings, it became evident that technology is not just a tool but a catalyst for innovation and progress. From AI to data science, the possibilities are endless. it is therefore left to us to inspire the next generation of innovators so as to unlock their full potential.
Beyond the technical aspects, Dr. Akinyinka further stressed the importance of instilling values of responsibility and ethics in our students' use of technology. He urged participants to consider the broader implications of their actions, reminding us that with great power comes great responsibility.
