The rhythmic beats of the drums, the colorful march past, and the roaring crowd admonished the 15th Premiere Academy Inter-House Sports Competition. The games embodied the spirit of excellence, resilience, and teamwork.
This year’s theme, “The Champion Within,” was more than just a slogan; but a call to action, a celebration of potential, and a testament to the Academy’s dedication to holistic education.
Resoundingly the Principal emphasized the importance of *thinking critically and innovatively*, urging students to embrace challenges, unlock their potential, and rise above the ordinary. He reminded everyone that true champions are those who combine intellect with action, embodying resilience and creativity in all spheres of life. Igniting a proactive balance that blends Sports, Safety, and Innovation.
During this year's Interhouse sports competition a new dimension was introduced that covered the aspect of fusing athletics, intellectual capacity, safety measures, recovery techniques and technology. It was centred on teaching students how to implement the CPR technique for occasions that require resuscitating fellow athletes incase of fatigue, fainting, muscle pains or injuries during sports. The CPR technology demonstration was equally delivered as a means of empowering students on or off the tracks who might be in the best position to offer urgent solutions.
At the peak of the event, a showcase of the Mass Fire Drill Awareness Session came into play, to underscore the importance of safety and preparedness and rapid response, instilling a sense of responsibility and teamwork on and off the pitch.
By weaving these elements into the fabric of the competition, Premiere Academy demonstrated that being a champion goes beyond winning medals. It’s about mastering the tools of the future, being ready to respond to life’s uncertainties, and working collaboratively for a safer, better world.
A Sporting Event Like No Other
At the heart of the event were the sports competitions, where students demonstrated grit, passion, and sportsmanship. The houses competed fiercely, and here’s how they ranked:
- Green (Emerald):1st place with 666.6 points
- Yellow (Topaz): 2nd place with 606.4 points
- Red (Ruby): 3rd place with 517.2 points
- Sapphire (Blue): 4th place with 501.8 points
The joy wasn’t limited to students. Special races, including the Parents' Race, Alumni Race, and Staff Race, brought an extra layer of excitement. These events showcased the inclusive and vibrant spirit of the Premiere Academy community.
Adding a competitive edge, the inter-school races saw Loyola Jesuit School emerging victorious in both male and female categories, further elevating the event’s prestige.

The event was honored by the presence of prominent figures, including the Lead Director, Mrs. Fawehinmi; Supervising Director, Mr. Akin Oladapo; and PTA Chairman, Bar. Anyanwu.
