Empowering Students for a Safer Future: Uniting with NDLEA to Fight Drug Abuse

Raising Awareness and providing a Shield for the Next Generation.
At Premiere Academy, education goes beyond books and grades. It is about preparing students for life. In today’s world, young people face increasing exposure to harmful influences

. Parents no longer ask only about grades. They also ask:
✔ Is my child in a safe and disciplined environment?
✔ Is my child surrounded by the right values and influences?
✔ Will this school equip my child to navigate life’s challenges with confidence?
We recognize these concerns and take action. This is why Premiere Academy is proud to collaborate with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the West African Action Network on Small Arms (WAANSA) to launch the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) Club in our school.

A Bold Step: Turning Students Into Anti-Drug Ambassadors
The statistics on drug abuse among Nigerian youth are alarming. According to the NDLEA, over 14.3 million Nigerians aged 15 to 64 have used drugs at least once, with young people being the most vulnerable group. The easy availability of harmful substances, peer pressure, and the misleading glamourization of drug use on social media make prevention more urgent than ever.
Rather than waiting until it is too late, Premiere Academy empowers students to take charge of their future.
At the launch event, NDLEA’s FCT Commander, Mr. Kabiru Tsakuwa, and WAANSA’s Vice President, Mr. Martins Igwe, stressed the importance of early education to protect young minds from harmful influences.
Themed “Avoid Drugs Instead of Experiment,” this initiative was more than just a lecture. It was a transformative experience where students:
✅ Learned from Experts – NDLEA officers shared real-life stories of young lives derailed by drugs, making the dangers real and relatable.
✅ Participated in Interactive Discussions – Role-playing scenarios helped students practice how to say no to peer pressure with confidence.
✅ Discovered the True Cost of Addiction – They explored not only the physical risks but also the impact on careers, relationships, and mental health.
✅ Engaged in Parent-School Collaboration – Parents were encouraged to take an active role in discussing these issues at home.
Premiere Academy: Where Education Meets Character Development

At Premiere Academy, we raise students who excel academically while developing emotional intelligence, discipline, and social responsibility. Our partnership with NDLEA and WAANSA reflects our commitment to a holistic education that empowers students to make the right choices.
Join Us in Shaping a Brighter Future
This is more than a school initiative. It is a movement, and we invite parents, guardians, and educators to be part of it.
