Premiere Academy, in collaboration with Cyrus Mega Corporate Limited, organized a safety training event for students on Saturday 14th March, 2020.
The training that spanned three hours was facilitated by a team of five medical practitioners who trained students on very vital areas including:
Cardio–Pulmonary Resuscitation ( CPR) - reviving a person who is unconscious and unresponsive, Choking, Asthmatic attack, Epilepsy, Seizures and Convulsion, Bleeding – Nose and Severe Bleeding, Fractures, Dislocation, Burns and Scalds, Drowning, Bites, Animal bites, Snake bites, Electric shockand;Proper hand washing techniques.
Studentsin attendance were not just enlightened about the aforementioned; they were also practically trained on what to do when faced with such challenges. The training was essential because children’s safety education is an extended process most especially, asthey grow to become adults. As such, it is necessary to equip them with the needed information to help them protect themselves from danger.
Consequently, the training was tailored forstudents tobe aware that at timesothers are liable to act in ways that will endanger them whether through irresponsibility, lack of caution or any other way, they should knowand learn to take appropriate precautions when the need arises.
More so, as students acquire safety knowledge, safety education should be a collective one as such; every home should have a first aid kit because it could make the difference between life and death.
Most importantly, it is necessary to enlighten children regarding the importance of protecting themselves against danger. We must also help them develop a deep sense of responsibility so that they will not endanger others and constitute nuisance in the society.
